Pourquoi choisir ImagePixelConverter

Confidentialite locale

Verificateur DPI

Etapes du flux

1
Drop a photo or scan.
2
Read embedded DPI (or Unknown) and print sizes at common DPI values.
3
Use Print Size Calculator for a target inch/cm size, or Compress / Resize if the file is wrong for the job.

Cas de d'utilisation

  • Check why a print shop asked for 300 DPI.
  • Show a client that a 72 DPI tag on a 4000 px file still prints well at 8×10.
  • Find files that have no DPI tag at all.

Points forts

  • Reads EXIF, JFIF and PNG pHYs. Does not invent 72 DPI.
  • Print @72, @150 and @300 from the real pixel grid.
  • Clear warning: DPI metadata ≠ image quality.
  • Same pixels at 72 or 300 DPI look identical on screen.
  • Built for photographers, POD sellers and print designers.
  • Local parsing only.

Erreurs courantes

  • Believing that editing 72 DPI to 300 DPI makes a blurry photo sharp.
  • Ignoring pixel count and only looking at the DPI field in Photoshop.

DPI metadata is not sharpness

DPI (dots per inch) in JPEG EXIF, JFIF or PNG pHYs tells a printer how to map pixels to paper. It does not change how many pixels exist. A 4000 × 3000 px image is 13.3 × 10 in at 300 DPI and 55.6 × 41.7 in at 72 DPI. The pixels are the same. Setting the tag from 72 to 300 without resampling does not add detail.

What this tool reads

We look at EXIF X/Y Resolution, JFIF density, and the PNG pHYs chunk. If none are present, DPI is Unknown. Screenshots and many web exports have no tag. You can still compute print size from pixels on Print Size Calculator.
