Arbeitsablauf

1
Drop an image or type width, height and a target DPI.
2
Read print size in inches and centimeters.
3
Use Recommended / Acceptable / Low-resolution to decide whether you need more pixels or a smaller print.

Anwendungsfaelle

  • Check if a 4000 × 3000 photo can print 8×10 at 300 DPI (yes).
  • Plan a poster at 150 DPI when 300 DPI would demand too many pixels.
  • Give a POD listing a honest print-size note.

Highlights

  • Upload mode uses the real pixel grid.
  • Manual mode for planning before you have the file.
  • Presets: 300, 240, 150, 96 and 72 DPI.
  • Quality labels: Recommended (≥300), Acceptable (≥150), Low-resolution.
  • Pairs with DPI Checker so you do not confuse tags with pixels.
  • No server upload.

How print size is calculated

Inches = pixels ÷ DPI. Centimeters = inches × 2.54. A 4000 × 3000 image is 13.33 × 10.00 in at 300 DPI, 26.67 × 20.00 in at 150 DPI, and 55.56 × 41.67 in at 72 DPI. The rating is about the DPI you chose, not a magic property of the file.

Who this is for

Print shops, Etsy and POD sellers, photographers, and Amazon main-image makers. If you only need the pixel box, use Pixel Checker. If you need the DPI tag inside the file, use DPI Checker.
