Remove Image Metadata

Upload, see whether EXIF, GPS, camera and timestamp tags exist, then strip them. The new file is redrawn from pixels, so those tags are not copied.

How to Convert Images in 3 Easy Steps

01

Adjust Settings

Choose your target format and adjust the quality slider to find the perfect balance between size and clarity.

02

Upload Your Files

Select or drag and drop your images into the conversion zone. We support JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, and more.

03

Download & Save

Conversion happens instantly in your browser. Download individually or grab everything as a convenient ZIP file.

Why use this converter

Privacy First

Unlike other converters, we don't upload your files to our servers. All processing is done client-side.

Runs in the Browser

Each image is converted with the Canvas API on your device, one file at a time.

Modern Formats

Stay ahead of the curve with support for next-gen formats like WebP and AVIF for better web performance.

Pixel Safety Cap

There is no daily quota. Images wider or taller than 16,384 pixels, or over 80 million pixels, are skipped so the tab stays stable.

Batch Queue

Add several images, convert them in order, then download each file or a ZIP of the results.

Quality You Set

The slider affects JPEG, WebP, and AVIF. PNG output stays lossless. Animated files keep the first frame only.

Remove Image Metadata

Upload, see whether EXIF, GPS, camera and timestamp tags exist, then strip them. The new file is redrawn from pixels, so those tags are not copied.

Workflow Steps

1
Drop the image. The tool lists EXIF, GPS, camera and timestamp as Yes or No.
2
Click Remove Metadata.
3
Download the clean file or a ZIP if you queued several.

Use Cases

  • Share a vacation photo without GPS.
  • Send a press JPEG without camera serial-adjacent tags.
  • Clean a batch before you zip it for a client.

Key Highlights

  • Shows what was detected before you strip.
  • Removes EXIF, GPS, camera model and timestamps by redrawing pixels.
  • Same local-first model as conversion — files never upload.
  • Batch-friendly with ZIP download.
  • Use EXIF Viewer first if you want to read tags without changing the file.
  • Output format stays the original when possible.

How removal works

ImagePixelConverter already drops metadata on convert because Canvas toBlob writes a new file from pixels. This page makes that action explicit: detect, then strip, then download. It is more useful than a silent side effect on JPG to PNG.

What is removed

EXIF camera fields, GPS, timestamps, and other tags that were not part of the pixel grid. Color pixels remain. If you also need a smaller file, run Compress Image after stripping.
